We understand that your pet is an important part of your family. We strive to provide the best living conditions possible for our tenants with clean, comfortable housing. In general we do not allow pets in any of our family housing complexes. Fish tanks and caged birds are allowed. As provided by federal law, pets are allowed in subsidized elderly housing.

There is a vast difference between a pet, a service animal and an assistance animal.

Pets: In general we do not allow pets in any of our family housing complexes. Fish tanks, under 20 gallons, and caged birds are allowed.

Service Animal: Are “An animal that has been specifically trained to help you with your disability.” We require proof the animal has received special training in helping an individual cope with a physical impairment, such as a Seeing Eye dog. We do not charge an additional damage deposit.

Assistance Animal: If the animal does not have specific disability-related training, then they may be requested as an assistance animal. A professional statement is required which links the need for the assistance animal with a diagnosed disability and how having the pet is necessary is coping with the disability. We do not charge an additional damage deposit.

Procedure for adding a Service Animal or Assistance Animal to your household: Service animals and assistance animals cannot be added to your household until all of the proper documentation has been completed, submitted and approved by our office.
